PLANS Thrall needs a network, so he will be reaching out to people on all sides. Those with information will interest him greatly. He may do his best to smooth over anti-shardbearer sentiment but there are no solid plans to get him involved with that yet. He is slowly heading in a more neutral direction as he despises war, and to that end, he will also be shielding/protecting children, refugees, and other non-combatants. Much of his energy will be devoted to healing the damage the war has wrought and communing with spirits. SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS Thrall will have his own spot of land to outfit and strengthen as he pleases. This new base will act as a great place of operations for him, and a good place to stop since it's basically right in the middle of the map. Nice. TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - Thrall helps with unfreezing the Roc's frozen rampage. BOON EVENT MARCH - Thrall helps out in Azure, meets Wan. MARCH - Waver hands over the keys to the old Barrel. MARCH - Rin calls Thrall up on da phone and tells him to get his ass down here. MARCH - Thrall helps Rin & the Barrel (2) with healing some damage down south, helps with her garden. APRIL - Shardbearers hear harps in their dreams, can smash it to make it stop. BOON EVENT APRIL - Waver comes by. APRIL - Saber comes by. MAY - Fairy rings and lockets stop working. Monarchs disappear. Thrall goes golden swan hunting. MAY - Swan hunting w/ Diarmuid. MAY - Javik comes by the TTP. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) JUNE - Treun festival. Thrall will watch, but he won't participate in the melee unless needed. He bothers Hiro though because gambling is bad. JUNE - Thrall and Lia have a friendly duel. JULY - Anti-shardbearer sentiment in Daonna. Thrall will strengthen security around his post just in case. Thrall takes Hiro on a ride around the neutral lands, surveying the damage the Jabberwhelp caused. Attempts to heal the earth will happen. They may or may not be successful. AUGUST - Forest golems go crazy. Festival of Light happens in Leathann. Thrall isn't going. AUGUST - Wan comes by TTP, asks for help with the golems. Thrall talks to the spirits and helps some of them feel better. AUGUST - Connor comes by TTP. FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) SEPTEMBER - Suddenly language barriers everywhere! Thrall speaks Common and Orcish and orcs are natural polyglots so this should be fun. LATE SEPTEMBER - Brewfest? a.k.a. the Treun wreath festival. Maybe Thrall can get some imports for his pals. LATE OCTOBER- Samhain! Sun does not rise; characters can go wherever they please; Black Shuck makes another appearance; giant party on the Cathraon. Thrall is going to the party with Vol'jin and he'll be dressed up as a dwarf because that's fucking hilarious, is what it is. NOVEMBER - Some kind of prison break from Leathann. Thrall watches. WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) LATE DECEMBER- Thrall will dress up as Greatfather Winter for Yule and give presents to the kids. Also both courts are trying to catch the White Hart. JANUARY - Caer Scima is finally rebuilt, but Thrall does not return. FEBRUARY - Something like Children's Week in Parrais. Several notable artists found murdered. Thrall is perturbed and wonders if it's tied to anti-shardbearer sentiment, but maybe not. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) MARCH - The dead rise again! Thrall will have no problems cutting down skeletons. He's dealt with the Scourge before. APRIL - Imps and fairies both go missing?

[The grass is, indeed, sprouting! And it's doing a pretty good job. Thrall's eyes don't leave Hiro, though. He's definitely watching.]

Imagine if she had been fully grown. [Yes, he'd heard about the jabbertot.] She should have been more than a weapon, regardless. I despise this war.

Same could be said for all of us, don't you think? That's what we are to the monarchs right now. I can't think of anybody who actually likes the war.

There are always warmongers. And I do understand the rush of being in battle, but...

[He shakes his head.]

The monarchs care very little about anyone but their court. The native people suffer. The shardless suffer. The children misplaced by this war suffer, and the monarchs have not lifted a finger to help any of them.

We have more power than they would like you to believe. [A green shoot curls toward Thrall's large hands, longing for sunlight and nourishment.] We can direct our efforts into the war, or we can try to lessen its impact and perhaps even stop it. We have that choice. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

[He has his own thoughts on the natives, but he's not quite willing to share those just yet. You know. Just because they're sort of scary and (in his opinion) not exactly eager to help shardbearers in the first place but that's a whole other topic for another time.]

And what about the Seelie side? What if they don't feel like stopping the war? We can't just let them keep attacking us and destroying everything we've worked for either. I guess I just mean...what if there really is only that one choice?

[Even as a shaman he has to help people who don't necessarily like him. He's used to it.]

You can't mistake the Seelie leadership for its people. They were taken here as much as we were.

[He watches the plant grow. It's almost big enough to be a proper plant, and it has company. They're doing well.]

I've struggled with that question for a while. I think the Unseelie should defend themselves if attacked, but they should stick to their own territory. The losses on both sides have been great and I daresay nearly even.

We should be focusing on stopping this... great Void above all else, not playing with the lives of those caught between. We're wasting time.

[It's almost weird how they can be having this conversation and getting things to flourish like this. They're doing a lot better than Hiro anticipated, at least. It's also the one reason he can have this conversation, having his attention more on the task than really overanalyzing what Thrall's saying.]

Some things are just easier than others. Nobody knows how to stop the Void, but we all know how to fight each other and blame each other for what's going on. Even if we all stick to our own territories who's to say that's going to help? We didn't do anything last time and the Seelie side destroyed everything. It's like the battles we're fighting with them and repairing the damages each time are those really annoying sidequests in a video game. Not necessary, but they'll help us with the main goal.

...so what are you going to do?

[This is par for the course with Thrall. He likes multitasking. Even better if he can fix things while talking politics. It's good, though, to talk to Hiro like this-- to treat him like an adult instead of a child. He's a smart kid and hopefully learning other points of view will help him mature.]

You have a point, but we have to end the cycle of hatred ourselves. [Perhaps by removing the monarchs if necessary. Hiro's sidequest remark gets a perplexed expression from Thrall. He has no idea what the kid just said. It didn't make sense in any context.]

I am going to wait. [He sighs.] I know that answer will not satisfy you, but there is still much to learn about this world and its people. I want to establish something of a foothold before I throw myself headfirst into a situation I know nothing about.

[Sorry buddy, sometimes Hiro doesn't make sense in any context. Thrall's correct though, that answer doesn't satisfy him too much. He's still young and he's only been in the Drabwurld for a little over five months. Waiting is bothersome for someone who's used to acting.

On the other hand, Thrall makes a good point.] Sooo you mean getting into good standing with the natives and everything and then seeing how we can use that to our advantage to stop everything. That's not a bad plan. The more help we can get, the better. [Later he'll hear about the anti-shardbearer sentiments going on and probably change his opinion, but that's neither here nor there.]

Yes, exactly. They have weathered this war far longer than we have. I think they would have more insight... and I would rather not have daggers at my back when the time comes.

Hey, as long as you think they're not gonna turn on you anyway that's not a bad idea. [He's still learning to play the political game. He's kind of bad at it, but he's slowly learning. Looking down at the grass again, he nods more to himself than to Thrall.]
