PLANS Thrall needs a network, so he will be reaching out to people on all sides. Those with information will interest him greatly. He may do his best to smooth over anti-shardbearer sentiment but there are no solid plans to get him involved with that yet. He is slowly heading in a more neutral direction as he despises war, and to that end, he will also be shielding/protecting children, refugees, and other non-combatants. Much of his energy will be devoted to healing the damage the war has wrought and communing with spirits.
SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS Thrall will have his own spot of land to outfit and strengthen as he pleases. This new base will act as a great place of operations for him, and a good place to stop since it's basically right in the middle of the map. Nice.

JULY // closed to Hiro
It's a tall order. He's only one shaman and usually he has a team behind him, and a team of druids led by Hamuul Runetotem to depend on. He only has himself here: a true test of his abilities and his discipline. But he's not afraid. He is somewhat fearful for the child who's fallen into his care, but Hiro is resilient, like Thrall's people. It's more that... he should have more time to be a child. There isn't much Thrall can do about that, however. All he can do is protect him, and guide him, and answer his questions when asked.
Thrall arrives at the Station only a little tired even though he's been running for hours. He shifts back into his normal form and readjusts his balance; his armor always feels a little strange when he's back to normal, like it doesn't fit quite right. (He knows it fits perfectly, but there's always an itch in hackles he doesn't have as an orc.)
He's dressed in what counts as traveling clothes for him: a big dark cloak he took from the welcome feast, his armor, and the hammer at his side. There's a pack with a sleeping roll and other necessary supplies slung over one shoulder. All in all, he's a ready camper... but a change of clothes isn't entirely out of the question, either. He ducks inside the Station and glances around for any sign of his tiny friend.]
no subject
Perhaps betrayal was harsh, but Hiro was still way, way too angry at Lemina to even want to speak to her...possibly ever again.
When Thrall messaged him and explained where he was going, Hiro didn't think twice before saying yes. There were a few complications getting to the Station itself thanks to the lack of fairy rings, but he managed. Somehow? He always did.
He'd been waiting for only a short time at the Station and when Thrall walks into the building he'll find the boy sitting on a bench with his feet just barely above the ground. He's busy kicking his feet back and forth, idly looking around but jaw tight as he waits. He turns his head just then and spots Thrall though and most of the tension leaves his face as he bounces up off of the bench, throwing his usual backpack over his shoulder as he heads his way.
Even though he saw Thrall only three weeks ago, it almost seems as though he's shot up another half an inch making his difference in height more noticeable. Almost two inches taller than when he first arrived in the Drabwurld, it's also obvious that Hiro's been making good use of his time and energy with the presence of slightly defined muscles in his arms and legs. For once he's not wearing a hoodie, simply dressed down in a blue t-shirt and cargo shorts and his sneakers. There's a sleeping bag haphazardly tied to the bottom of the bag which seems to be filled with who even knows what, and when he stops up he shoots a mostly bright grin at him.]
Hey.
no subject
Hopefully Hiro has some ideas. If not... they'll figure it out. For now, they have a long journey ahead. Thrall greets the boy with a bright grin around his tusks. He reaches out to set a hand on his shoulder-- not too heavily, but a gesture of friendliness.]
Hiro, my friend. It's good to see you well.
[Now that they're actually standing next to each other, Thrall picks up on something. He isn't sure, not entirely, but eyeballing Hiro's head versus his own armor confirms it. He leans down a little, then straightens back up.] Hmmm... You've grown taller since we first met. I did not notice in the stands, but you are definitely growing-- and fast.
Is this part of your magic training? [That's a joke.]
no subject
Nevertheless, Hiro always has ideas and he'd already been brainstorming prior to Thrall's appearance. He doesn't respond immediately but instead seems to be giving him a good once-over. How could anybody really find Thrall to be intimidating off of the battlefield? It's still such a bizarre thought to him. He doesn't mind the gesture at all which is just another testament to how the Drabwurld's changed him.]
Yeah, it's called an illusion. [He can joke too, dude, though Hiro's actually partially serious. True to nature he'd been so involved in everything he'd been doing lately that he failed to notice his own growth spurt. He shrugs his shoulders, a sheepish little smile appearing.] I ended up getting here early to do some upgrades. [He gestures to the shorts which look brand new. Actually, they look so brand new there's still a price tag hanging from them.
...good job, Hiro. Pardon him while he yanks the tag off and shoves it into his pocket. He eyes Thrall's cloak and armor then, tilting his head slightly. The armor's fine, but otherwise?]
Dude, you're gonna overheat out there.
no subject
Thrall doesn't even think about the armor in the heat, but it's all fur-lined and durable and he's worn it for years.] Does it not get cold during the night? [Then again, that's what the cloak is for. He's reluctant-- it's in his face-- as he's worn the armor like a second skin since he was twenty.
But... Hiro might have a point. And he's here not to fight a war, but be a shaman. He lets out a sigh, pushes some stray hair back from his forehead.]
Very well, I see your point. What do you recommend?
no subject
It does, but not that cold. Haven't you ever experienced summer before? [He actually goes as far as to pull on his t-shirt a bit.] Stuff like this is what's common in my world during the heat.
no subject
[He squints at the t-shirt.]
That does not seem very battle-ready. But... if I am to carry you, I suppose... [He rubs at his chin.] A change of clothes could be useful.
Is there a tailor? [THRALL THIS IS NOT ORGRIMMAR THERE IS NOT A TAILOR DOWN THE STREET.]
no subject
He lifts his eyebrows at the idea of being carried, but hey, beats walking the whole way.]
I'll figure something out. [Crawling on Thrall's shoulders sounds like a great idea, actually.] I don't think you're gonna need a tailor though. We can just check out one of the shops. [And just like that he turns, gesturing for Thrall to follow.] Come on, this one might have what we're looking for.
no subject
I want very much to believe we can find something, but... Hiro, you do realize I am tall.
no subject
You and the rest of the world. [It's going to be a very fun month for Thrall dealing with a sassy teenager, but at least he seems to be doing it more just to tease him than to be a complete outright brat.] We'll figure something out if we don't find anything, but didn't you say the same thing when we first met? We still found something, didn't we?
no subject
I have never actually been inside the Station before. It reminds me of the things you brought from your home.
no subject
Never? I practically lived here before the fairy rings broke. I think I know this place like the back of my hand by now. [For that very reason. He was comfortable here among his own familiar objects.] Maybe I should give you the grand tour before we head out.
no subject
The area outside is still scarred by the events of the past winter. I would like to heal the land here before we move northward.
no subject
["Just in case I actually can get something to work in Dorchadas."]
Do we have time though...? If the area's that bad, it can wait until later.
no subject
A few hours or days will not make a difference. [He tilts his head.] I should warn you that healing the land is... slow. There will not always be an immediate, visible improvement. It is something that starts in the roots, and it takes time to work its way upward.
It is an exercise in discipline and patience.
no subject
I don't think it'll take us a few days to cover everything in the Station. It'll just be a crash course. [Though when Thrall elaborates on the rest he can't help but be a tiny bit skeptical. Patience? Discipline? Oh great.]
I think we have time to allow things to go slowish. How...slow is slow though?
no subject
It may take a week for the first buds to appear. But, we are not the only people interested in the devastation. We may be lucky enough to have help in our endeavors. [He smiles and hunches over, much like he had when they first met.] I will be able to tell if we are successful. And you, with your magic, should be able to sense it as well.
no subject
I'm not very good with it yet. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. I don't know if I'll really be able to sense anything but we can try it?
[Sorry Thrall. He's really not sure how this whole "healing" thing works. It's a slow process when he's busy running around playing with flames and occasionally helping jumpstart shadow-travelers.]
no subject
[He thinks Hiro is nervous because magic isn't something he was born with. It isn't one of his natural gifts. Thrall tries to ease that.] Even if you can only do a little, that is enough.
no subject
That's a good chunk of it, to be fair. Most things that he's not naturally gifted with are a cause of wariness for him lately including weaponry and magic. Magic at least was sort of close to science. Forget everything else.] You think? [He looks at his hands thoughtfully.] ...think the spirits will let me practice out there? [Even saying it like that is foreign to him but whatever. He's kinda accepted that the Drabwurld's full of weird shit.]
no subject
Absolutely. The earth wants to be healed. The world desires to be in balance. Neither of those things can happen fully if this war continues, but what we offer will keep the land alive for a little longer.
no subject
Was the world here damaged even before the last big battle and the way the jabberwock handled everything? [He's more or less asking if Thrall's talked to the earth lately...]
no subject
The fields of Cathraon are one example. Hardly anything grows there, as the land only knows war and death. There are also the desolate lands far north. I have not ventured there myself, but I hear the land itself is dead.
[He thinks about his time in Azure, rubs idly at his chin.]
There are mentions of other spirits being aggressive as well. From my experience, spirits are only aggressive when they feel threatened. Sometimes the culprit is other spirits, and sometimes it is a consequence of nearby settlements. I cannot say for sure without speaking to them personally.
[Being a shaman sure does sound like a lot of work, doesn't it?]
no subject
How would you even calm a bunch of aggressive spirits?
no subject
[Thrall's ears perk at various things during the tour. He asks a few questions about how things work-- none of them too redundant-- and shows lots of interest in the scientific side of things.]
Some spirits request aid in controlling their territory, while others desire offerings. Sometimes it only takes convincing... but even that can take a great deal of energy.
[He pauses, and looks a little awkward.]
Occasionally, the spirits send visions.
